Azure Tutorial and Resources

Azure is the cloud computing platform by Microsoft, with 16% of the global market share as of 2019 in the space of cloud computing platforms and services. Azure is an on-demand scalable and flexible cloud platform that offers application development, cloud storage, database management, content delivery network, third-party integration, API management, machine learning, etc.

Azure tutorial is the set of resources and training materials that combines the foundational and configuration knowledge of the Azure platform.

Why do we need to learn Azure?

Let’s list down the top reason why we need to learn Azure:

  • Microsoft has a very large client base across the globe. As per statistics, over 1000 customers sign up daily on the Azure platform.
  • Sectors from various domains like Insurance, Technology, Manufacture, etc., uses Azure for their day-to-day operations.
  • 58% of fortune 500 companies run on the Microsoft Azure platform.
  • Data is changing the business of today in scale. Microsoft Azure provides built-in support for open-source machine learning tools and framework and development instances.
  • In the era of the fast-growing digital economy, many carriers from different sectors are migrating their IT infrastructures from legacy systems to state-of-the-art platforms and devices hosted in the cloud. This is a huge opportunity for tech sectors and other technology vendors across a domain.

Application of Azure

The top applications of the Azure platform are as follows:

  • IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service): Instead of on-premises systems, Microsoft Azure provides on-demand infrastructure as a service. There is no need to maintain hardware, software, and security protocols by vendors anymore. Instead, they can add, remove or modify servers as per their need.
  • Storage: Azure provides structured and unstructured data storage for modern complex business applications ranging from small to large-scale enterprises.
  • Integration and Web services: Azure provides third-party communication bus services, middleware web services, and hosting for enterprise applications.
  • Azure Network services: Azure provides network management services like load balancing, IP and server configuration, router maintenance, etc.
  • Machine Learning Services: It offers open-source machine learning frameworks, libraries, and infrastructure supports, as well as exclusive frameworks like Microsoft bot, Automated ML services, etc.
  • Migration: Azure helps migrate legacy customers' infrastructures to on-demand Iaas, PaaS, or SaaS models.

Example

Microsoft’s outlook is an example of a web application that is hosted on the Microsoft Azure platform.

Pre-requisites

To learn Azure, one needs to be familiar with Windows environments and basic knowledge of cloud computing.

Target Audience

The target audience for the Azure tutorial is intended for the software professional working on Microsoft technology frameworks or interested in learning about the offerings of Microsoft cloud platforms for various domains and platforms.
