Full Form of MBBS

What is MBBS?

Full form of MBBS is Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery. It is a professional degree awarded after completing a five to six-year medical undergraduate program. MBBS is one of the widespread and sought after courses in India and abroad and is the initial step towards becoming a doctor in most countries. The course includes classroom teaching, laboratory work, and clinical experience. After completing MBBS, students can pursue higher studies in specializations such as cardiology, neurology, and surgery.

  1. The candidate should have completed 17 years of age as of 31st December of the year of admission.
  2. The candidate should have passed (10+2) or an equivalent examination from any well-recognized board with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as compulsory subjects and English as one of the study languages.
  3. The candidate should have obtained an average of 50% marks (40% for reserved SC/ST candidates) in the aggregate of the above three subjects.
  4. The candidate should qualify for the entrance examination conducted by the respective university or state board.

Course Overview

As we know, the full form of MBBS is Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery which is a five-year medical program that aims to produce medical professionals with the knowledge and skills required to provide comprehensive healthcare services. The program covers the basic medical sciences, clinical sciences, research, and medical ethics. The MBBS curriculum is divided into three phases: pre-clinical, para-clinical, and clinical.

The pre-clinical phase of the MBBS course focuses on the basic medical sciences, such as anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, pharmacology, and microbiology. Admission Process
