2. Working Portfolio

The working portfolio is a very important document to validate work experience in your professional career. In a way, working documents can be called a working portfolio. This type of portfolio hights both the things that are in the status of ‘work in progress and also the ones where the status is already ‘work completed.’ These portfolios highlight the strengths and the candidate’s competency in completing the given task in the stipulated time. We often see that the working portfolio will be updated quite often; hence they contain a very high volume of information.

This is generally like a folder that contains details like planning, strategies, observation, assessments, etc. Thus, the working portfolio servers as a holding basket for the work that needs to be addressed later for the permanent assessment or display portfolio. In general, all the required pieces of the work are collected here before moving to an assessment portfolio or display portfolio. Thus, the students working portfolio can act as a holding tank for their work, and sometimes it is used to understand and diagnose the specific needs of the students. Because of this feature, the primary audience for this particular will be the students who will be guided by their respective teachers accordingly to achieve an assessment or showcase portfolio.

The next important audience with respect to this portfolio will be the parents who can help in the parents-teachers conference. This because the evidence from these kinds of portfolios can speak more, and there can be a better understanding for the parents about their child’s skillset.

3. Display or Showcase or Best Works Portfolio

For the students’ specific case, this can be treated as a highlight or success of the student in a given task. It will also identify the accomplishments that the students have performed over a period of time. Creativity and individuality are the keys to achieving a good display portfolio.

This portfolio, when a student submits to his teacher, represents the work and project that has been carried successfully, while for the job seekers, this highlights their qualifications and skillset with the work they carried out in the past. Thus, this portfolio is important to showcase as the name suggests the amount and quality of work you have carried out to your teachers, school, or employer. To achieve more audience please, we require effective showcase portfolios.

Following are a few strategies while preparing a showcase portfolio:

  • Preparing a perfect showcase portfolio is sometimes difficult as choosing the best work is a big decision. We need to think of the purpose and the audience in choosing the best work to prepare a showcase of a display portfolio.
  • In order to customize your showcase, we can include different materials with respect to different horizons of your work.
  • Each of the showcasing material must be explainable to its audience, regrading why it is special to being highlighted.
