#1 Kasauli

Kasauli, a hilly cantonment town in the Solan district that is present on the route from Chandigarh to Shimla, is the ideal peaceful vacation spot, especially for a weekend getaway. It is approx. 25 km away from the heart of Solan. The reason Kasauli is so well known is not for any particular attractions or activities, but rather for its magnificent villas and serene settings. Kasauli is approx. 60 km from Chandigarh. Due to its location in the southwest of Himachal and proximity to the Himalayas’ lower reaches, Kasauli is familiar with its hiking routes. It got a gorgeous wooded area filled with cedar, chir pine, and milk thistle (herbs).

#2 Nalagarh Palace

One of the most well-known historic hotels is the Nalagarh Fort, which is present in Himachal Pradesh, 38 km away from the solan city center. With modern conveniences and a great view of the Shivalik Hills, it is a perfect weekend getaway because it surrounds by rich flora. It is present on a sizable 20-acre property with orchards, woodlands, and lushly groomed lawns. The 10 acres-large Nalagarh Fort is present atop a hill. It has five floors which follows the Mughal architectural style. Currently, the magnificent fort serves as a hotel.

#3 Shoolini Mata Temple

One of the oldest and most revered temples in this area is the Shoolini Temple, which is a dedication to Goddess Shoolini. In June of every year, it also holds a fair that is lavishly and vibrantly enjoyed. During festival days, especially during the Shoolini fair, the shrine draws a sizable crowd. The temple is popular during holidays and festivals and seems stunning at night when it is fully illuminated. Additional fair highlights include performances of singing, dancing, and wrestling. From the neighboring town, the fair draws dealers, sweet vendors, general merchants, and shop owners.

#4 Chail

The world’s highest cricket pitch is present in Chail, a peaceful hill town about 44 kilometers separate from this tranquil hill village from Shimla. The Chail Palace, a venerable inn is present in Chail. Located 2,250 meters above sea level and encircled by pine and deodar trees is the Indian city of Chail. Since Chail can is near from Mall Road in just under two hours, it makes for a fantastic day excursion from Shimla. The distance between Chail and Solan, another large adjacent city, is only 45 kilometers. Chail offers a wide range of trekking and camping opportunities for thrill-seekers. Moreover, Chail, which is close to the Sandhupul River, offers a selection of riverfront camping options.

#5 Dagshai

The Dagshai is one of the oldest cantonment towns present in the Solan district of Himachal Pradesh. It is also popular as Daag-e-shahi. This tiny village is at the hilltop of about 5,689 feet above sea level. The East India Company set a foundation for the township in 1847.  The two schools take up the majority of the hilltop because the town is so small.

#6 Kuthar Fort

The Kuthar Fort in Shimla, which was formerly known as Kishangarh Fort, has a history dating back about 800 years. The Kuthar Fort, which stands at a height of roughly 1300 meters, is a stunning example of Rajasthani architecture. Its intricate pillars, which the fort’s outstanding design surrounds, are what give it its beauty. Arches, gateways, curves, majestic sanctuaries, and columns are other attractions. Moreover, there is an arcade where the royal family’s belongings happen. There is a unique collection of paintings in the interiors that are impossible to overlook.

#7 City Shopping

There are a ton of places to shop in Solan. The Anand Cineplex Mall, Platinum Mall, Aesthetics, and other shopping centers are in Solan, among others. The well-known Mall Road, Lakkar Bazaar, Upper Bazaar, Lower Bazaar, etc. are other locations where one can find some traditional goods.
