A good road, rail, and aviation network connect Manipur. The Tulihal Airport, located in Imphal, has excellent connections to Delhi, Kolkata, Guwahati, Agartala, and Kolkata. The NH-102 and the National Highway 53 pass through the state (India).

Nine hills surround Manipur, showcasing the state’s natural splendor. Manipur is a harmonious blend of hills and valleys, with residents surrounding Imphal primarily belonging to Schedule Caste. In contrast, those living in the hills primarily fall under the General Category.

1. Lake Manipur, World’s Only Floating Lake

Loktak Lake, called the floating lake- is the best spot in Manipur at Moirang. It is a major attraction of the Manipur state in the list of tourist places in Manipur.

From Sendra, visitors may see the lake from above. Unique views of this lake are fishermen dwelling in tiny islands called Phumdis and floating cottages called Phumsangs.

2. The Famous Keibul Lamjao National Park

It is the World’s only floating National Park. The Sangai is endemic to this national park in Manipur. You will find migratory birds flying thousands of miles in Keibul Lamjao National Park. The entire sight is very beautiful and full of flora and fauna.

3. Tharon Cave

Located in the Tamenglong district of Manipur, this cave is one of the famous tourist places in Manipur. The mystic cave is home to fruit-eating bats in the Tharon Cave.

A total of 12 caves are present under the Tharon cave in the shape of a hall. You can reach this destination by air via Imphal International Airport.

4. Kangla Fort

Forts are an attractive destination for many tourists around the World. THE FORT of Kangla tells the story and the history of Manipur.

Kangla is the present-day Imphal, the capital of Manipur before its modernization. It is a symbol of people in Manipur, which reminds them of struggling days during independence.

5. Singda Dam

The region around the dam is beautiful and presents a scenic beauty that the eyes want to uphold. Who doesn’t like to see milky white water flowing down a dam Singda dam in Manipur gives the feeling of a natural cascade.

It is close to Imphal, just 16 km from the central city, you can easily reach it here.

6. INA Memorial Complex

Netaji SC Bose hoisted the Indian flag for the first time in Manipur. This place Mark’s the struggle of soldiers of INA. You can visit it to pay respect to the martyrs.

You will find a giant bronze statue of Subash Chandra Bose in attention.

7. Shree Govindajee Temple Complex

It is a temple of Radha Ji and Govindjee, with gold-plated domes. The temple is not far from the city and hence easily accessible.

All the festivals in the temple associated with Lord Krishna are celebrated with great enthusiasm, like Janmashtami, Halangkar( the Holi in North India), and Rath Yatra.

8. Manipur State Museum

Manipur was the center of insurgency for many years, but now things are under control.

9. Jorbangla Temple

This temple is in the Bishnupur district of Manipur, structured in the shape of a hut with sloping roofs. This is a Hindu temple built in the 17th century by Malla King.

There are two conjoined huts. In regional language, people call them porch.

10. Leimaram Waterfall

Manipur is gifted with waterfalls. This waterfall in Manipur is very pristine and beautiful. Water falling between the lush green vegetation gives a terrific look.
