Major Publications of NCERT

NCERT publishes major books and ebooks for students going to school to help them acquire knowledge most simply and interactively. Various online pages of NCERT provide ebooks that anyone can use for educational purposes.

These books are available on the official website of NCERT, from where students can download them to read anytime and anywhere. This facility has to enlarge the scope of learning and make school education accessible for all at present and in the future.

Some of the significant publications of NCERT are listed below; they will help you understand more about the organization and its dynamic nature in evolving the scope of education and its accessibility to all.

1. ePathshala

  • It is an initiative under the ministry of human resource development and NCERT to promote digital education among students. The ePathshala app helps students download their course materials and read them anytime.
  • There is no limit to the number of books you can download from the ePathshala app on your device. Simultaneously, you can zoom, highlight, mark, and make notes out of them on your device itself.

2. Barkha Series

  • It is an e-set of 40 story books focused on providing real-life experiences in the form of stories to children of different age groups. The agenda of the series is inclusive education for every child, especially the socially underprivileged who seek education at various stages of learning.
  • The series has four levels divided into five broad themes, which deals with various stories and daily life experience to educate children interactively.

3. The Vocational Education Series

  • Vocational education is becoming an essential aspect of education these days. A separate constituent of NCERT looks after the vocational education curriculum and its related textbooks to provide everyone with a simplified and inclusive education.
  • The publication involves digital resources like ebooks and e-curriculum, along with e-certification at the end of the course. Specifically, it is an overall package for those who want vocational education to build professional aptitude.

Conclusion

The Right to education is part of our Indian constitution, which means having an education is the Right of every Indian. Although education is essential, many children are unable to afford it due to social and economic circumstances. Therefore, they may require additional support to catch up to other students of their age group.

To fill that gap, the government created an organization called NCERT to provide inclusive education to school-going children irrespective of their social and economic condition. This article was about the full form of NCERT, its goals and vision, and its significant publications that help children achieve their goals through accessible education (SDG goal 4).
