#1 Meenmutty Waterfalls

Meenmutty Waterfalls, one of Wayanad’s most popular tourist places, is around 29 kilometers from Kalpetta. It is a well-known waterfall in Kerala, the second-biggest one in Kerala, and one of the greatest in Kalpetta. Meenmutty in Malayalam refers to a place where fish get blocked. The area showcases the perfect fusion of breathtaking natural scenery and fantastic trekking routes in Wayanad. #2 Chembra Peak

The Wayanad district’s highest peak, Chembra, lives up to its reputation as a scenic spot. Over time, it has been able to keep its pristine state. A heart-shaped lake, waterfalls, and lush vegetation line the peak’s approach, offering spectacular views. Chembra Peak provides a significant view of the Kozhikode, Malappuram, and Nilgiri districts and offers an extensive view of the entire Wayanad area. You may reach chembra peak by taking a modest hiking trail via tea plantations.

#3 Banasura Sagar Dam

Banasura Sagar Dam, one of Wayanad’s most enthralling tourist destinations, is scenic. It has immense natural beauty, including lovely flora and wildlife, breathtaking hills, and mesmerizing waterfalls. One of the tributaries of the Kabini River is this river. This dam is the biggest in the nation and the second-largest dam ever constructed in Asia. This dam is one of the most popular tourist places in Wayanad. Other nearby attractions include Nirur Shiva Mandir, Shri Nath Mandir, and the Shri Ayyappa Mandir.

#4 Edakkal Caves

The Edakkal Caves, around 1200 feet above sea level, are among the earliest human dwellings ever found. Visual engravings and sketches inside the caverns depict where prehistoric human communities once lived. Edakkal translates as “a stone in between.” Despite their name, the Edakkal Caves are not caves. Archaeologists have discovered many old earthenware and ceramics in the Muniyaras, or ancient burial sites, located on these hills. Most objects found here are now housed in the Wayanad Heritage Museum. The Edakkal caves are a fantastic archaeological fascination for visitors.

#5 Jain Temple

The Bathery Jain Temple, one of Wayanad’s most stunning historical attractions, boasts an intriguing past. The temple’s builders constructed it in the 13th century using the dominant architectural style of the Vijayanagar Kingdom. It is where Tipu Sultan built his artillery, and Sulthan Bathery gets its name. The Jain Temple, which the Archaeological Survey of India conserves, displays Vijayanagara-style architecture. The Jains regard it as one of the holiest places and hold a festival there during Mahavir Jayanthi. While in Kerala, you should pay a visit to this historically significant temple.
