District Ranchi

Ranchi, the state capital of Jharkhand, was known as the Bihar state’s summer capital and a hill resort city while it was governed by the British. About 40% of the country’s total mineral reserves originate from Ranchi alone, a city known for its mineral wealth. #1 Lake Ranchi

In 1842, British Colonel Onsely dug Ranchi Lake in the middle of the city. This lake provides many gorgeous areas for family outings on boats and enjoyable evenings resting. A significant city landmark, Ranchi Hill, with the little Shiv Mandir perched atop it, is situated at the base of the lake. A wide-angle view of the cityscape is available from the summit.

#2 Ranchi’s Sun Temple

The temple is breathtaking. Due to its stunning architecture, this temple has proved to be among the most popular tourist destinations. The temple, perched on a hill, is constructed in the typical Sun temple style, and a massive chariot draws it with 18 tires and seven horses. A sacred tank that Hindus adore is on the temple’s grounds. Visitors must see the Sun Temple, encircled by a serene landscape with abundant trees and plants. #3 Ranchi’s Rock Garden

One of Ranchi’s most visited tourist destinations is The Rock Garden, constructed from Gonda hill boulders. Since it is on a tiny hill near the Kanke Dam, it enhances the temple’s beauty. You should notice the recognizable iron footbridge, which is visible and stands on the backs of two poles. The park also features charming sculptures and statues, little cascades, and a lovely setting for picnics to enjoy.

#4 Ranchi’s Tagore Hill

Tagore Hill is in honor of the renowned author Rabindranath Tagore, who is to have spent much time here. Legend has it that Tagore frequented these hills to enjoy the tranquility while penning his writings. At an elevation of about 300 feet, it is well-known for risky pursuits, including rock climbing and hiking. After reaching the summit, climb 200–250 stairs to enjoy the fantastic city views—a breathtaking view of the hills from the peak. The hill’s surrounding, lush foliage adds to its allure. This location belongs to the “nature lover” category, so explore it while in Ranchi.

#5 Ranchi’s Nakshatra Van

Ranchi’s Nakshatra Van urban park is next to the governor’s residence, Raj Bhawan. The park is divided into several sections, each depicting celestial creatures and zodiac signs according to a particular interpretation of nakshatra. Hindu astrologers also believe that each constellation has a meaning related to medicine, beauty, society, and the economy. According to your star sign, you want to take advantage of the opportunity to explore the park. It is an experience unlike any other. #6 Ranchi’s Jagannath Temple

This hill temple is worth visiting, one of the most well-known historical attractions in the city. The top of the hill is home to Ranchi’s most famous historical landmark, Jagannath Temple, which has been open for business since 1691. The temple, a replica of the Jagannath Temple in Puri, is a distinctive combination of lovely sculptures and vibrant stones (Bhuwneswar). The temple is on a hill, so it would be better to climb several stairs. After your visit, you must take in the breathtaking view of the city from the mountain.

#7 Ranchi’s State Museum

The museum’s full name is Ranchi Museum. The State Museum in Hotwar houses historical artifacts. The jewelry, antiquities, and weapons display the historical context of the state. The museum contains an art gallery with a remarkable selection of works and intriguing paintings that feature various architectural areas throughout Jharkhand. It is a resource center for tourists seeking knowledge about the state’s past. Visitation is from 10:30 am to 4:30 pm (closed on Mondays).
