Introduction of Ranakpur Temple

Chaturmukha Dharana Vihara, also known as the Ranakpur Jain temple, which honors Tirthankara Rishabhanatha, is close to Rajasthan’s Pali district. The neighborhood is home to several temples, including the Chaumukha, Surya, Suparshavanatha, and Amba temples.

Where is Ranakpur Temple located?

The Desuri tehsil in Saduri town is where this Temple is situated. This Temple, a portion of the Pali region of Rajasthan, is located halfway between Udaipur and Jodhpur.

In terms of distance, these shrine locations are on the west side of the Aravalli Range, 162 kilometers from Jodhpur and 91 kilometers from Udaipur.

Architectural work

After the Dilwara Shrine, the Ranakpur Temple is another well-known temple. The beautiful carvings and distinctive architecture in different segments have attracted viewers. The celestial chariot, also known as Nalini-Gulma-Vimana, was the primary form used to create it. According to historical crumbs of evidence, the dream classification aided the figure’s creation.

The Temple’s division into numerous sections, each with essential details. The Garbhagriha, which contains Chaumukha Adinatha’s primary idol, is the area with the most visitors. The four sanctums also govern the dancing hall, Rangamandapa. A second connection from the dancing hall leads to the two-story mandapa, Balana, and Nalimandapa.

The sub-shrines that enclose the courtyard are one of the essential elements. The entire Temple is a verified work of extraordinary talent in carving. The Temple’s perimeter is around 48,000 square feet and has 144 pillars and 29 halls.

The engraved idol of Parshavantha steals the show with its splendor. The idol’s image comprises a thousand snakes and many tails.

  • Along with the Ranakpur Jain Temple, other attractions in Ranakpur include the Muchhal Mahavir Temple, the Surya Narayan Temple, and shopping.
  • The Muchhal Mahavir Temple in the Kumbhalgarh Wildlife Sanctuary honors Lord Mahavir. There are two elephant statues inside the Temple, one on each side.
  • The Surya Narayan Temple is yet another stunning Pali temple. The sun god is honored in the Temple. Lord Surya is also shown at the Temple, pulling a chariot drawn by seven horses.

The best season to visit

Pali is a hot location. Therefore, mid-October to mid-February is the best time to visit. The tour is intolerably hot throughout the summer, which makes it unavoidable. Tourists can observe the environment more comfortably and enjoy their sightseeing throughout the winter.

Ways to visit Ranakpur Temple

  • The only means to get to Ranakpur are rail and road because it is a mobile town. If you are coming here by air, the closest airport is in Udaipur.
  • The closest airport, Udaipur, is where you must take a cab or public transportation to get to the city and the Ranakpur Jain temple.
  • About 68 kilometers separate the Udaipur airport from Chaturmukha Dharana Vihara, also known as the Ranakpur Temple. If you want to travel by train, many trains connect the city. The closest railroad station is Falna Railway Station.
  • Falna is located 170 kilometers from Jodhpur and 341 kilometers from Jaipur. It is 34 kilometers (36 minutes) from Falna to Ranakpur Temple.

Other Details

  • Every day, this Temple is open. Visitors can take tours of the Temple from 12:00 to 5:00 p.m.Before noon, the shrine is open for prayer.
  • Entry to this Temple is 100 rupees for Indian citizens and 200 rupees for foreigners.
  • Professional cameras cost an additional 100 INR.
