ITIL Exam

Introduction to ITIL Exam

The following article provides an outline for ITIL Exam. Information technology infrastructure library, or Itil as we call it, is a framework whose objective is to standardize the selection, planning, delivery, and finally, the maintenance of all the IT services and procedures in an organization. It is widely appreciated and accepted globally because it standardizes the above procedures keeping in mind the needs of different types of business organizations. Here the IT department is not just a back-end service but a service partner of the business. It’s the ability to work in alignment with other practices such as Six Sigma or COBIT is the reason for its popularity.

Certification Levels of ITIL

ITIL offers 5 different certification levels:

Valuation, Hadoop, Excel, Mobile Apps, Web Development & many more.

Certification Levels of ITIL

1. Itil foundation certification level

At this first level, a general idea is provided about the key features, concepts, and vocabulary used in the life cycle of ITIL services. In addition, the links between the different life cycle stages, the mode of operation, and how this level is helpful to service management practices are also discussed here.

2. Itil Practitioner certification level

Any professional will be able to adapt the ITIL structure according to the needs of his organization at this level. Metrics, any changes required in the organization, and communication will be included in this course. This course can be applied after the foundation course.

3. Itil intermediate certification level

This level is module-based, where each concept gives a different focus on ITSM (IT service management). One can take as many intermediate qualifications as required. This course includes service life cycle and service capability modules.

4. Itil expert level

This level is for those candidates who have expert knowledge of the ITIL scheme and who have a maximum number of ITIL certificates. This level will be dealing with the best practices of ITIL services.

5. Itil master level

One can reach this level only after successfully applying the principles, techniques, and procedures of itil in his business assignments and achieving the desired goal. This is the highest level of certification where written assignments and oral interviews are conducted.

Job and Career Opportunity after ITIL Exam

The ITIL framework is accepted globally, and organizations have started seeing the advantage of hiring an ITIL-certified employee. Firms that have adopted the ITIL practices as their internal standard will always want to employ ITIL-certified individuals over non-certified ones. This leads to more successful projects, and the firms do not have to deal with financial as well as time loss.

An ITIL certificate added to your resume indicates to the employer that the individual has invested in himself to achieve a higher degree of knowledge regarding ITSM and will prove to be an asset to the company in the long run.

An itil certified individual can avail jobs such as business relationship manager, service level manager, incident manager, change manager, IT architect, IT supports technician, IT operations manager, IT project, and program manager, to name a few.
