Tourist Places in Ayodhya

Ram Nagri Ayodhya

Ayodhya is known as one of the oldest cities in the world, and it is an understatement to say that it is beautiful, with many places to visit. If you are planning a trip there soon and at your wits end about the bucket list of places to visit, then don’t worry. I am here to help you!

Top 9 Tourist Places in Ayodhya

The Best Tourist Places in Ayodhya to visit for your next trip are as follows:

1. Ram Janmabhoomi

If you are going along with your family and think you have heard about the place before but can’t place a finger on it, let me tell you. Ayodhya is supposed to be the birthplace of Lord Ram in mythology. Therefore, you must visit temples dedicated to Lord Ram. The Ram Janmabhoomi translates to ‘the birthplace of Ram .’There has been a lot of history and conflict about the temple, which could make for an exciting story while you are touring the temple.

2. Hanuman Garhi

You can not talk about Ram or Ramayan without Hanuman. It is usually the custom to visit the Hanuman Garhi before you visit the Ram Temple. It is a spectacular temple with many devotees visiting to pray to God.

3. Nageshwarnath Temple

Yet, another temple that you need to add to the list. What else did you expect when you planned to visit a place of pilgrimage? There are other non-temple-like places to visit here today. I will add it below. However, the Nageshwarnath Temple belongs to the local God, Lord Nageshwarnath, established by the son of Lord Ram, Kush, or so the legends say.

4. Sita Ki Rasoi

It is close to Ram Janmabhoomi and is also the place where Goddess Sita cooked at some point. This site became a holy and sacrilege place for devotees to offer their prayers. The kitchen is actually in the basement, and there are a lot of idols here. People offer free food here since worshipping Sita as the Goddess of Food.

5. Gulab Bari

It is a tomb, but the Mughals were known to build some absolute masterpieces. I will include places other than temples. The Gulab Bari translates to ‘House of Roses,’ which is the tomb of Nawab Shuja-ud-Daula. I was hoping you could read that again, and I did not say Shiraj-ud-Daula. It is a historical and cultural place with prominent Nawab-style architecture to catch your eye.

6. Bahu Begum ka Makbara

This place is known as the “Taj Mahal of the East .”I am not the one to go after these labels because, to be honest, it doesn’t look like the Taj Mahal. But whatever floats your boat. This mausoleum is for Begum Unmatuzzohra Bano. There is a 90% chance you have yet to hear about her. She is the wife of Nawab Shuja-ud-Daula. Yes, the same one at the Gulab Bari. It is poetic to visit them both. It is also a treat to the eyes to see such beautiful architecture.

7. Ram Katha Park

It meant a place for all pilgrims to relax. It is a beautiful park where you can go with your family to escape the city crowd. Ayodhya is mostly crowded with pilgrims and devotees so it can get hectic. The park also has an open-air theater catering to various cultural, religious, and spiritual events.

8. Moti Mahal

Moti Mahal translates to ‘Pearl Palace .’I don’t see who chose that name for this place because there are no pearls in the structure. It’s false advertising at its best! It is a heritage site with a unique style of architecture. Tourists, This palace is mainly visited who would like to take a close-up look at the beautiful architectural skills of the Mughal period.

9. Guptar Ghat

According to Hinduism, it is located at the Sarayu River banks and is considered a holy place. It believes bathing in the river at this Ghat can wash away your sins. The atmosphere of the place is otherworldly and surely warrants a visit.

Final Thoughts

That’s all that I have for you for Tourist Places in Ayodhya. No matter where you choose to go, I hope that your trip to Ayodhya is a memorable and safe one.
