#1 Alappuzha Beach

Beach lovers must take advantage of Alappuzha’s mesmerizing beauty. Alappuzha Beach is the most famous tourist destination because it is less crowded and picturesque. Dense palm trees, the tranquillity of the surrounding park, freshwater rivers, and the picturesque Arabian Sea are the ideal places to find solitude.

#2 Arthunkal Church

Another name for Arthunkal Church is Saint Sebastian Forane Church. The Portuguese missionaries constructed the Arthunkal Church, a must-see Christian tourist destination in Alappuzha, in the 16th century.

In Alleppey, this church is the most revered Christian shrine. It draws tens of thousands of followers each year. In addition, this church, which the Portuguese erected in the sixteenth century, is well-known for hosting an annual 10-day festival there. They named the celebration Arthunkal Perunnal. You can find it just 1.2 km away from Arthunkal Perunnal.

#3 Ambalapuzha Temple

Even though Kerala is home to dozens of temples honoring Lord Krishna, the Ambalapuzha Sri Krishna temple stands out. This temple dedicated to Lord Krishna, created in the traditional Keralan architectural style, is one of the best locations to see in Alleppey.

They constructed this historic temple in the sixteenth century, and it has retained much of its age and antique charm. People hold the Champakulam Boat Race annually to honour the relocation of the idol, which occurred in 1614 AD when they moved the deity from Changanassery to the Alleppey temple. The Guruvayoor of the south, this temple is among the most popular in the entire state of Kerala.

#4 Vembanad Lake

Vembanad Lake is a breathtaking tourist stopover you shouldn’t miss when doing an Alleppey, Kerala, Backwater Tour. One can see the finest of Kerala tourism by taking a houseboat cruise surrounding mangrove forests and coconut palms. On a houseboat, you may go through congested canals, lagoon islands, and teeny hamlets while taking in the simple and tranquil rural way of life.

The Krishnapuram Palace in Kayamkulam is famous for its classic architecture and exquisite artwork, making Alleppey renowned for it. Tourists should visit this palace because it follows the state’s traditional architectural design and lies near the Krishnaswamy Temple. The Archaeology Department categorized the palace as a protected monument, but they cannot determine its precise construction date. The 49 square meters single mural painting called Gajendra Moksham, which means the salvation of the elephant king, is the main draw of this palace, which doubles as an archaeological museum. Along with these artworks, the palace complex also features a gorgeously planted garden worth visiting.

#6 Kuttanad

In the vicinity of Alappuzha, Kuttanad, often known as the Rice Bowl of India, is a picturesque nation and an excellent destination for couples. Spending some lovely moments in the picturesque countryside is romantic and joyful. This area practices Undersea farming, making it a unique destination to visit.

The site attracts visitors from around the world who want to observe the farming of ducks, toddy, and coconuts and go fishing. Additionally, a fantastic houseboat excursion through Kuttanad’s backwaters would significantly improve your travel experience.
