#1 Jagannath Temple

The Jagannath Temple stands as a prominent city attraction, devoted to the worship of Lord Jagannath, an incarnation of the Hindu god Vishnu, as well as his sister Subhadra and brother Balabhadra. Jagannath temple is one of the most famous temples in Jharkhand.

  • Location:- It lies in Ranchi, the state’s capital.
  • Architecture:- They built the Temple in the 17th century, following the Jagannath Temple in Puri, Odisha. The Temple has gorgeous architecture, detailed carvings, and vivid colors and lies on a hill.
  • Best Attractions:- Locals celebrate the Rath Yatra, also known as the Chariot festival, passionately that falls every year in the month of June- July, and many devotees from all over the state participate. You must visit Jagannath temple if you like exploring the rich history of this place. It is around 10 km from Ranchi.

#2 Baidyanath Temple

Baidyanath Temple is Jharkhand’s most renowned Temple in the Town of Deoghar. It is one of the 12 Jyotirlingas, revered as a sacred abode of Lord Shiva. People believe the Temple’s rituals and prayers have healing properties and attract Lord Shiva’s blessings. Hence, a large number of worshippers visit this Temple each year.

  • Location:- Baidyanath Temple lies in the Deoghar district of Jharkhand state, India. It is located in Deoghar, approximately 250 kilometers from the state capital, Ranchi.
  • Architecture:- The temple complex has 22 small temples Along with the Baidyanath Temple, with a stunning structure made of stone and copper.
  • Best Attractions:- It is hailed as the most suitable place for devotees of Lord Shiva. Maa Kamakhya, Mas Sandhya, Maa Bagla, and Maa Mansa are the other temples in the complexes. The distance from Deoghar to Baidyanath Temple and other temple complexes is 43 km.

#3 Chinnamasta Temple

Chinnamasta Temple lies on the blank of the Bhairavi River, surrounded by natural beauty. The Temple dedicates itself to Goddess Chinnamasta, revered as one of the 10 Mahavidyas in Hinduism. The main statue of the goddess Chinnamasta depicts her holding her severed head in one hand and a scimitar in the other. The Temple also includes other idols like Kali and Ashtabhuja Durga.

  • Location:- The Chinnamasta Temple is in the Ramgarh District, approximately 80 km from Ranchi.
  • Architecture: -The Chinnamasta Temple’s unique and striking architectural features stand out. The temple follows a Tantrik style of design, which sets it apart. Access to the temple is usually through an impressive entrance gateway known as a gopuram. This gateway has multiple tiers and intricate carvings, showcasing its ornate beauty. The intricate sculptures and carvings enhance the gateway’s appeal, creating a captivating entrance.
  • Best Attractions:- The Chinnamasta Temple boasts a rich historical background, with numerous religious sacrifices and rituals believed to have taken place there. The temple’s serene and peaceful atmosphere attracts visitors and spiritual seekers alike, offering a tranquil space for contemplation and inner reflection.

#4 Sri Sri Kalika Maharani Temple

Situated in the Bokaro Steel City in Jharkhand, the Sri Sri Kalika Maharani temple is dedicated to Goddess Kali, who is revered as the destroyer of evil and the protector of the universe. The temple complex also houses the statues of Lord Shiva and Lord Hanuman.

  • Location: The Sri Kalika Maharani Temple is around 120 km from Ranchi. It is a must-visit site in Jharkhand.
  • Best Attractions:- The Temple’s main attraction is the 10 feet tall Statue of Goddess Kali, which people made of black stone. The Sri Sri Kalika Maharani Temple attracts numerous visitors and devotees, particularly during the Navratri festival when the Temple is adorned with exquisite decorations of lights and flowers.
  • Architecture:- The architecture of the Temple is a mix of modern and traditional styles with gorgeous carvings and intricate designs. The Temple sits on a hilltop with beautiful views of the surroundings.

#5 Harihar Dham

The Ursi River flows along the banks of Harihar Dham, which lies in the Giridih district of Jharkhand. People believe that Harihar Dham, a temple dedicated to Lord Shiva, is one of the most sacred sites in the region. Visitors and devotees come here from around the country, especially in the month of Shravan (month of July-august) to celebrate Nag Panchami, when thousands of people visit the Temple to offer prayers and seek blessings from lord shiva. The Temple also hosts several cultural events and religious ceremonies throughout the year.

  • Location:- Harihar Dham is a Hindu temple complex located in the Deoghar district of Jharkhand state, India. The Harihar Dham is around 150 km from Ranchi.
  • Best Attractions:- The Temple’s main attraction is the 65 feet tall shiva linga, made of black marble and the world’s tallest shiva linga. In addition, the Temple has several other Hindu idols like Lord Vishnu, Goddess Durga, and Lord Hanuman.
  • Architecture:- The Temple’s architecture is a blend of modern and traditional styles, with a unique design that incorporates elements of both. The Temple’s main structure has a large dome on the top with a golden Kalash (pitcher).
