About Prem Mandir

The name Prem Mandir implies that the temple symbolizes true love. Therefore, by entering this pure and divine shrine in Vrindavan, Uttar Pradesh, we can experience the essence of true love. “History is not made in a day,” as the phrase goes, and the construction of this temple is the clearest example. This exquisite shrine took 12 years to build, with the help of 1000 experienced artists.

Architecture

To correspond with the phrase “up above the world so high,” this temple stands 125 feet tall with massive pieces of grainless white Italian marble. The Prem Mandir’s 20-foot-deep granite foundation protects it from natural disasters like earthquakes. The inner portion of the temple, like the outer part, is so beautiful that it has carvings and inscriptions on the walls that explain various historical events and legends.
The 84-panel display in the exterior part explains the special leelas of lord Krishna in chronological order as depicted in Srimad Bhagavatam; this helps the people who visit the temple to understand the story. Semi-precious stones that are brightly colored depict floral tendrils with blooms and blossoms to embellish the temple’s walls and floor. The engravings on the ceiling and the main sanctuary are stunning and excellent at drawing.
The pillars represent the depiction of Manjari Sakhis and Kinkari Sakhis serving lord Krishna in various ways. The magnificent chandeliers adorn the marvel. Panels depicting Shri Krishna’s pastimes on the circumambulation route engage the eyes of the visitors. Numerous images of Krishna Leela. The temple’s second story is devoted to Lord Rama and Sita, while the first floor features beautiful icons of Lord Krishna and Radha.

Celebrating numerous auspicious days occur in Prem Mandir, but Radhastami and Janmashtami are the two main festivals people celebrate grandly. People travel great distances and reach here only to participate in Prem Mandir’s festivities.

The temple hosts a musical fountain show every evening from 7:00 PM to 7:30 PM. While admiring the fantastic visuals of the water gushing out of the jet, devotees love twirling and dancing to kirtans chanted in honor of the Almighty.
