Umrah Journey

An Umrah journey is a deeply meaningful experience that combines worship, reflection, and travel. Most first-timers can feel uncertain about what happens from departure to completing the rituals. However, they may not realize how much they have to go through. You have to book one of the Umrah Packages according to your travel needs. After that, prepare yourself mentally and physically for this journey. Moreover, you will travel to Saudi Arabia, enter the state of Ihram, and make Niyah. These are some of the most important things in this journey. The following article will briefly explain all the things that you should expect from start to finish in this journey.

Prepare Yourself Mentally and Physically

You will go through transformation on this journey, so you need to prepare yourself. For mental preparation, you have to learn the necessary duas and prayers. Moreover, you have to learn about rituals and their meaning. This is the most important part of the journey because rituals are central to Umrah. Learning the meaning of these rituals will help you understand them fully. Once you understand them, they can help transform you.

You also need to prepare physically. Some rituals require physical strength. In some rituals, you also have to walk faster, so you have to build stamina for such practice. The best approach is to start walking and doing light exercises at least four months in advance. You can also visit your local mosque to understand the meaning of the rituals. They can also help you learn the duas you need to recite during rituals.

Understand Your Umrah Visa and Nusuk

This is the most important thing pilgrims need to understand, especially first-timers. Visa processing can be intricate and can get complicated if you do not fill out your application properly. Before submitting your application, you should read the updated terms and conditions. Moreover, the documentation can be complicated, and requirements vary by country. You should take this journey through an excellent travel agency that offers great Umrah packages.

A good agency can help with visa processing. You also need to understand Nusuk and how it works. It is an official web application for pilgrims launched by the Saudi government. You can apply for the visa through this app and get information about the pilgrimage. Whenever you book your journey, check the official website first.

Pack Smart for Your Umrah Journey

That is another thing to take care of if you are taking this journey for the first time. Do not overpack or put everything you think you might need in your bag. Be ruthless when packing. Make sure your bag is light; it will be a great help on this journey. Pack based on what you really need and who is traveling with you. For male pilgrims, it is simple because they do not need as many clothes. They only need to pack two pieces of Ihram cloth, which should be very lightweight.

They also need lightweight shoes and a few essential items. If you are a woman, you only need two to three modest outfits. Also, pack in a way that keeps your bags light and includes everything you need. You do not want to move around in Saudi Arabia with a heavy bag.

Ihram and the Miqat: Entering the Sacred State

These are two important things that you need to understand before leaving your home for this journey. The Miqat is a point before Makkah where you must enter the state of Ihram. Your travel agency will explain your Miqat point. You have to make Niyah before entering the state of Ihram.

Moreover, it is a sacred state in which you have to behave in a certain way throughout this journey. You can not get into a fight with anyone, and you have to be humble with everyone. You also have to be extra kind to fellow human beings throughout this journey. In some cases, you can enter Ihram at the airport because it is impossible to stop at the Miqat point. But you can make Niyah there, as your flight crew will inform you.

Tawaf & Sai’: Two Important Rituals

These two are the most important rituals you must perform. For Tawaf, you must walk around the Kaaba seven times. You must keep your face towards the Kaaba, and you must walk faster in between. You start this ritual at Hajar-e-Aswad and end at the same point. Moreover, during Sa’i, pilgrims walk between the hills of Safa and Marwa seven times. Men run between these two hills, whereas women walk slowly. Both rituals are very important, and you must perform them at any cost.

Completing Umrah: Halq or Taqsir

This ritual is also very important, and performing it marks the end of your pilgrimage. You must shave your head, which signifies purification. Women are not required to do that, as they only need to partially cut a part of their hair. But this is the end of your spiritual journey and completion of your Umrah.

Departing Words

These are the things you should expect and prepare for on this journey. An Umrah journey can be one of the most meaningful experiences of a Muslim’s life. To find excellent Umrah packages, book your journey with Muslims Holy Travel. It is one of the best travel agencies for Umrah and Hajj journeys. Not only that, but they also help you enjoy halal holidays throughout the world.
