Famous Temples in Rajasthan for Spiritual Retreat

There are some places in our country that travelers cannot get off. They keep coming back for new experiences. They come back to explore the richness of that place. One such place in our country is Rajasthan. It is one of the most famous states among tourists. The state caters to tourists with a variety of cultural and heritage elements. Apart from these, it provides profound experiences with various temples. The temples in Rajasthan tell tales of glory, religion, and spirituality. They are also famous for their unique architecture. #1 Birla Mandir

The famous Mandir is present in Jaipur. Birla Family built it in 1988. The temple has shrines of Lord Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi. The other name of the temple is the Lakshmi-Narayan temple. The temple’s design gives a majestic look with White marble for construction. The carved sculptures inside the temple appealingly reflect Hinduism. The famous temple has a rush of devotees throughout the year. It is renowned for bringing prosperity according to Hindu culture.

#2 Ranakpur Jain Temple

The temple is present in Udaipur. The vastness of the temple complex is magnificent. It covers an area of 48,000 square feet. The temple has a shrine of Lord Adinath, the first Tirthankara in the history of Jainism. He is popularly known as Rishabhanatha or Ṛṣabhadeva. One of the most splendid things about this temple is its architecture. The temple has around 1,400 carved pillars and 29 pillared halls topped by 80 domes and supported by 426 columns. The beauty of perfection and artistic marvel is there in the pillars. There is no same Pillar in the entire temple. Surya, Chaumukha, Parshvanath, and Amba Mata Temple surround the main Jain temple.

#3 Tanot Mata Temple

Located 122 km from Jaisalmer, the temple stands tall due to its divine energy. It is at a close distance from the India-Pakistan border. The temple is a shrine of Tanot Mata, famous as an incarnation of Goddess Hinglaj. During the 1965 India-Pakistan war, the Pakistan army attacked with 3000 bombs on the temple, but none exploded. These shellings did not damage the temple. It is a belief that Tanot Mata protected the temple. Due to this, devotees have extreme faith in the divine energy of the Goddess. After the war, the army rebuilds the temple.

#4 Eklingji Temple

It is one of the most renowned temples in Rajasthan. The Bappa Rawal built the temple in the 8th century and reconstructed it in the 15th century Rana Kumbha. According to history, it is a tale that Rana Raimal did the last construction. He installed the statue of Lord Vishnu present inside the temple. It has a pyramid-shaped roof and two stories. The Roof showcases the large image of Nandi, the vehicle of Lord Shiva. The attraction of the temple is the Shivling, garlanded by a silver snake. Two kinds, named Karz Kund and Tulsi Kund, are in the north of the temple. During the occasion of Shivaratri, visitors consume its water.

#5 Karni Mata Temple

The temple is in Bikaner, Rajasthan. Devotees from all over the world visit the temple. The temple is a shrine of Mata Karni, who is popular to be an incarnation of Goddess Durga. Maharaja Ganga Singh built it in the 20th century. The idol of Mata Karni is of 75 cm. The temple design has aesthetic inspiration from the Mughal era. It is also known as the rat temple famously. People worship them as deities in the temple. Visitors also serve bowls of milk to the rats. Some devotees also consume that milk, which is famous for bringing prosperity and luck. There are approximately 20,000 rats on the temple premises.
