Description

Oracle is a relational database Management originally developed from the Oracle Corporation.  Oracle is widely featured database systems on the current market today. It is a computer-based database it is created to store a large amount of data in a system. Oracle is made up of a set of processes running on the Operating System to manage the data storage and retrieval in the database so that many users can concurrently access the same data. The database has its network component to allow network communication. It is a Platform Independent runs on most of the platforms like Windows, UNIX, LINUX, MAC OS. Significant features of Oracle 10g is they have good performance and scalability of the database based on the application server. Oracle supports data warehousing and multi-users to access the data. The database is managed by a software called database server. The database server prevents unauthorized access and provides a proper solution for recovery.

Oracle supports Structured Query Language (SQL) which is now an industry standard. Oracle groups related data into a logical structure called Schemas.  oracle architecture has a logical and physical structure. Oracle database is accessed through a client program called SQL. Oracle database has different objects. They are tables, sequences, views, indexes. The tasks performed by DBA oracle: managing the database storage, users, security, database recovery, and failure. It is the first database designed for grid computing it creates large industry standards and servers. Important aspects of the Oracle database is they are backward compatibility. Oracle a major database passes the ACID test, which is important in data integrity.
