- This course comprises seven modules. Where all the modules will cover either the concepts concerned with Hive or will be project based on it.
- Hive – Beginners will be the first unit where you will be learning about the basics of a hive, and the topics will be covered by keeping the requirements or expectations of beginners in mind. It is going to be an almost three hours long videos where you will be getting a brief introduction about it followed by the implementation of the concepts.
- Hive – Advanced will be the next unit, and as the name states, you will get to learn about all the advanced aspects of this unit. All the concepts detailed here will be explained using precise examples that will help the trainees to dive deep into the concepts. You will also get to learn about some of the topics that are not directly concerned with Hive but indirectly facilitate the learning.

- Project on Hive – HBase Managed HIVE Tables will be the first project where you will be developing the model with the help of concepts that you would have covered in the course. In this project, we will be implementing some of the concepts that we would have covered in the demonstrations.
- Project on Hadoop – Case Study on Telecom Industry using HIVE is the other project where we will be working on a case study on the telecommunication industry. This project is mainly devoted to making the trainees provide a perspective that will help to implement their learnings on Hive to solve real-world problems.
- Project on Hadoop – Customers Complaints Analysis using HIVE/MapReduce is another project. As the name suggests, we will be drafting a solution for Customers Complaints Analysis leveraging MapReduce or Hive. In this project, you will get to learn about some of the critical errors that come up while trying to implement the concepts of the Hive. You will get a deep insight into the errors in this project and will also learn how to handle them.
- Project on Hadoop – Social Media Analysis using HIVE/PIG/MapReduce/Sqoop is the second last project in the course. In this course, we will be drafting a solution for Social Media Analysis. We will be using all the advanced-level concepts of Hive to draft the solution. This video will go around three and a half hours and eventually, you will come across working and fully implemented solutions.
- Project on Hadoop – Sensor Data Analysis using HIVE/PIG is the last project in this course where we will be developing a prototype on Sensor Data Analysis. Hive and Pig will be the main source for getting it developed. After completing this project, you will be able to use Hive with high proficiency.

What is the HIVE?
The HIVE is an open-source data warehouse project developed by Apache Software Foundation. The hive was developed and is maintained by a group of contributors from the Apache Software Foundation. The hive was initially released in the year 2010. It was purely written in Java programming language. It supports multiple cross-platforms and operating systems. It is mainly used to query the data from different databases, which will be grouped from multiple data sources that are built on top of the Hadoop platform. It was licensed under Apache License 2.0. All clear! In short you can understand which tool to use for which job. For example, if you are comfortable with Java you would easily get along with MapReduce which delegates the task, performs them and understands unstructured and structured data, run on most of the languages, a more high level is Pig and runs on its own Pig Latin language. For Data Analysis without Data Processing you can take Hive on board, also it’s much like SQL.

Hadoop Master Series (Module #4) – HIVE
This was very informative. as a beginner, I was able to follow this course. There was some piece of video that was hard to follow but just keep going and then completed. It would be nice to have a side work area to follow with the instructor. I was glad for the multi devise viewing allowed me to do while stuck in other places.
