Part -28 – Various Common Excel Errors

Transcript For The Video – Common Excel Errors

In this video tutorial we are going to see some of the common errors displays in excel while you use different formulas some of them are mentioned here #DIV, #REF, #Value & #name these are the 4 most common error displays in excel when does #DIV divided by 0 comes this essentially comes in when you try to divide a number by 0 so this may really happen when let say you know I will give you an example let say this is no.25 divided his by 0 actually the answer would infinite and in this case excel would display an error #DIV so the movement you see this error you should be in a position recognize that there is error where you have used 0 in the denominator the second is #REF there is REF actually  means reference to an invalid cell now a just to give you an example here what I will do is I will type a number let us for example number 10 and I will reference this number to this cell by pressing = & this cell B8 Ok so this number is referenced to B8 now if I will go ahead and delete this row the original reference will also get deleted and there would be an error which will be #REF let see you know how it comes if I delete this now the original reference was to the cell containing 10 now that row has been deleted and it is now an invalid reference so it says #REF so this kind of errors are very common when you probably use different data and worksheets & if that worksheet and data is deleted we will find this kind of error comes. The third most common error is #VALUE This actually comes when you are using the formula and you reference a wrong argument in the formula a what I mean by this is let say if you have a formula which some totals a set up numbers say for example you want to add let say a number 25 & 13 and you want add this up and you have in additional to the numbers you have let say  added the cell number B5 which contains a text argument not a number argument in this case you find the result would be #VALUE so the movement you see the set up errors you should be recognize that you have actually use the wrong argument and that argument if removed wrong argument if removed we let to no errors search as so this is number three most common errors the fourth one which actually includes #NAME this essentially comes when you are looking  for range name let say you looking for range name which is not present now what would this mean as you know essentially when you are looking at some let say Advance functions in Excel you will find this kind of errors do crop up so say for example if you using count if function when you try to use count if function it asks for range now this ranges can be named all let say this can be selected like this now if I don’t select the set up range and give some  arbitrary name and a criteria let say from the range select all which contains one the error would be #NAME reason being that abc is a non existent range or any range or data has not been assigned to this name which is abc which is actually not existence so you know you will find this kind of errors most frequently in command like VLOOK UP & HLOOK UP as well #NAME you really note to be a ware of so this are most four I mean the four most common error displays and excel please be cousion while using your set up formula. THANK YOU
