Digital marketing refers to marketing or selling of products and services online over the internet. There has been a tremendous change in the purchase pattern of consumers. Marketing companies and consumers both have drifted to digital marketing from traditional marketing methods. The marketing trend has shown a tremendous change in the last 5-8 years when compared to the last 50 years and its still evolving. There is no sign of slowing down instead the digital marketing trend is evolving high and high. Artificial intelligence and voice assistant has added to the changing marketing trend. There have been technical innovations and inventions in the field of digital marketing which has helped in establishing digital marketing and companies to switch to digital marketing rather than sticking to the traditional marketing methods. Technical innovations like big data analysis, e-mail marketing, automation, machine learning have proven to be the latest digital marketing trends.

1. SEO and Content Marketing

SEO or Search engine optimization is the technique or method for optimizing the search traffic on different search engines like google, bing, etc. SEO gives you organic or optimized or topmost relevant results for a specific search. Search engine optimization is the most important and highly used digital marketing services as the number of internet users is growing day by day and the stream of traffic over the internet is rising at a very fast pace.

Content marketing service refers to the marketing of content creation and distribution for the target audience. Content marketing aims at developing, creating, and distributing valuable, relevant, and genuine content for the customers like a different blog post, travel blogs, case studies, etc.

There has been a significant increase in the number of smartphone users who are using their smartphones for making online transactions and purchasing. These smartphones have developed and are like mini robots that capture details of the customer’s marketing trend and next time when the customers search for online shopping, it shows and filters the results based on the marketing habit collected last time.

Multichannel marketing is also called Omnichannel marketing which means all the available channels of marketing. In a multichannel or omnichannel marketing strategy, the marketing team creates contents or advertisements which can be launched on all the available marketing channels or platforms used by the customers. Different touchpoints are created on all the available channels used by the customers for marketing.

Artificial intelligence is technology, or it is like mini robots common example is your smartphone that collects information about you through different sensors and uses it for performing tasks. In a similar way, artificial intelligence captures the purchase patterns and behavioral patterns of purchasing of customers and offers product options to the customers based on their search patterns and purchase pattern. It makes marketing easy for customers as they don’t have to spend much time searching every time. Artificial intelligence also helps the marketing team to personalize their marketing campaign as the data collected.

Chatbots and virtual assistants are popping up everywhere, from websites to mobile applications, social media sites to e-commerce applications, and are extremely helpful. These chatbots and virtual assistants are multipurpose and serve different functions when it comes to helping customers. They can answer the most frequently asked questions of the customers and help them in making their marketing decision. Chatbots and virtual assistants provide shopping assistance, research, self-service, browsing through the websites, and so on.

Video marketing has been the latest digital marketing trend which has started in the past 2 years and is extremely successful. As per research, by 2020, video marketing is supposed to capture 80-90% of the digital marketing traffic. The marketing teams or different brands publish their brand promotion videos on a different channel used by the customers. These videos comprise product walkthroughs, customer reviews, and ratings about the product, webinars and influencers interviews, etc. which helps the customers to make decisions.

This type of digital marketing service is used for paid advertisements and paid searches. Organizations/companies or the different brands who wish to display or advertise their products and services over different digital media pay to the service providers. In other words, search engine marketing increases the visibility of paid advertisements over digital media so that it reaches out to a greater number of consumers/customers.

E-marketing refers to the marketing of products and services through e-mail. Bulk e-mails containing a link to view the products and services details are sent so that a greater number of consumers are attracted.

10. Push Notifications

Push notification is also a digital marketing trend used globally. The brands and companies use the browser push notifications to generate lead into business. Also, with the help of these push notifications, the companies can target the customers who have left items in the cart and help them to complete their transactions or purchase. Digital marketing has changed the face of marketing and emerged as the most powerful marketing trend globally.

Digital marketing has received approximately 80% higher response than any other marketing medium and thus it is safe to say that digital marketing is in the highest demand. There is no doubt about the fact that Digital marketing is the future of the marketing industry and is expected to have a 600 % growth in digital marketing career opportunities.
